How To Make Your Scrub Accessories Last Longer
Taking care of your medical scrubs is important, and here at Blue Sky Scrubs we have plenty of blogs on how to care for your scrubs. But that’s not the only thing you wear into work; you may also have accessories like caps, scarves or compression socks. Let’s talk about how to keep these scrub accessories in excellent condition so that your scrub outfit is always in tip-top shape.
Caring For Caps
Many medical professionals wear scrub caps every day. You may need to wear a scrub cap at certain times on the job, or maybe you just prefer the way it looks. We also offer disposable scrub caps, but if you don’t want to be constantly throwing away and putting on new scrub caps, then our washable ones are the way to go.
Since all of our scrubs are made with 100% cotton, they can easily go through a washing machine. Just make sure to use cold water and tumble dry on low heat. However, if you want the best outcome for your scrub cap, we suggest washing it by hand with cold water and letting it hang dry.
Washing Scarves
Scarves are a fashionable accessory and a great way to keep warm in the chilly weather outside or the cold medical workplace. For the best care, machine wash your scarves on a cold, gentle cycle or hand wash with cold water and mild soap. Tumble dry your scarves on low heat for the best outcome.
Compression Socks
Blue Sky’s comfy, snug compression socks are great for preventing discomfort in your legs after a long shift, and keeping your feet warm and cozy. For the best care, machine or hand wash cold. Don’t use a machine dryer, as the elasticity of the compression socks will be compromised. Hang them up or lay them flat to allow them to dry.
