Introducing New Scrub Colors for Winter
In previous posts we talked about how to stay warm in the winter and how to customize scrubs for the holidays. Today we’re going to talk about a different aspect of winter wear: color. The colors you wear impact you and the people around you—perhaps more than you think. The shorter days and colder temps can sometimes be a drag, so make it a point to wear uplifting colors. Surgical caps are the perfect gift.
- Yellow is very energizing, but be sure to pick a warm, sunny hue, not a jarring neon yellow, and pair it with neutral pants, such as black or white.
- Blues, pinks, and lilacs are calming colors, and blue scrub pants can be worn like jeans, with pretty much anything. Blue looks great with its complementary color, orange, but don’t go too bright with the orange—try more of a deep, rich orange instead.
- Go easy on wearing black too often. Black is a great neutral staple, but wearing black on black especially can get depressing.
- Green is a vibrant color associated with vitality and growth, so try a variety of shades and pair them with brown or beige pants.
- White is crisp, clean, and professional, but can also be too clinical. Pair a white top with another color bottom, or vice versa.
- Also consider happy prints, such as bright floral designs that remind you that spring is around the corner.
When wearing lighter colors, be aware that they tend to show stains and get dirty more easily than darker colors, so plan accordingly. You might want to layer up and wear a lighter, brighter long-sleeve tee underneath a darker-colored scrub top. Many brands have winter collections, so be sure to browse those for inspiration.
