Lengthen the Lifespan of Your Medical Attire
There are a few simple steps we can take to lengthen the lifespan of our scrubs, scrub hats, and any medical attire. Once you incorporate these steps into your laundering routine, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is! Tune in to the following steps and enjoy a long, lovely life with your scrubs:
Follow the Washing Instructions
It’s important to follow the proper washing instructions that are on the care label of your scrubs! The care label contains important information on washing, drying, and preserving your medical attire.
Use the Hot Iron
Using the hot iron after your scrubs have dried is excellent. It’ll help the colors stay bright and vibrant, and your scrubs will look crisp and professional, ready for work!
Don’t Put Scrubs in the Dryer
...or lab coats, or any medical attire. You’d be amazed at how long your scrubs will last if you avoid the heat and abrasion that occurs inside the dryer. If you cannot line dry your scrubs, use the non heat setting on your dryer.
Hang Them Up to Dry
Instead of putting your scrubs in the dryer and leaving them susceptible to damage, hang them up to dry! Create a clothesline on the balcony or in the backyard. It’s a fun project, and your scrubs will thank you in the end!
Tackle Stains Immediately
As soon as an accident or spill occurs, tackle the stain. Use a stain removal stick (we always recommend keeping these in your locker for bad days), or hydrogen peroxide, or whatever is handy.
