Rid Your Scrubs of These Common Stains
Accidents happen and there’s little we can do to prevent them! And when we’re on the go (for instance, at work), a stain can really be time consuming! Below you’ll find the most common stains that find our scrubs, and how we can get rid of them. For some, you’ll have to wait until you’re home to launder your scrubs. But always keep a stain stick in your locker for emergency situations!
Sweat Stains
Sweat stains are inevitable when we work so hard. For sweat stains on your scrubs, grab that dish detergent when you get home, and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Mix one part dish soap with two parts hydrogen peroxide, scrub the sweat stain, and let it sit for an hour. Then simply launder your scrubs as normal!
Blood Stains
Again, bust out that hydrogen peroxide! But first, spot test the hydrogen peroxide on an inconspicuous area on your scrubs to make sure it won’t cause any discoloration. Once that’s done, pour the peroxide over the stain and allow it to foam for several minutes. You could wipe up the remainder of the peroxide, or toss it straight into the washer!
Bodily Fluids
Occasionally you’ll find bodily fluids on your scrubs like vomit! For vomit, the process is really simple. Just rinse the fabric clean, and make sure there aren’t any chunks leftover. Next, pretreat the area with detergent, and wash your scrubs in warm water. The vomit should come right out- and you can once again enjoy your freshly clean scrubs.
