How Comfortable Is Your Scrub Uniform?
Much to the delight of doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel around the globe, there are numerous options available for scrub uniforms that aren’t just durable and efficient- but fashionable, too! Dressing well to work may boost our confidence and keep our productive juices flowing… but comfort remains a priority, especially throughout these long, demanding shifts.
While you’re out shopping for the perfect set of scrubs, keep these few things in mind:
Find the Perfect Size
Sizing differs across manufacturers. It’s best to try on different sizes in each brand to make sure they fit correctly. It’s also helpful to retake your measurements beforehand, so that you have the most accurate, up-to-date information. Next, reference the sizing chart, and make sure the style is suitable for your body type!
How Cozy is the Fabric?
Most scrubs are made using a polyester-cotton blend (usually 65% polyester, 35% cotton). This blend is durable, wrinkle-resistant, and quick to dry. 100% cotton scrubs have a softer feel. They are durable as well, but less wrinkle-resistant (try using a hot iron after washing/drying). 100% polyester fabric is the least expensive, but it is also less breathable than 100% cotton or poly-cotton blend material. So if your shift has you constantly on the move, you might find cotton or blended scrubs to be more comfortable.
